Who is Mintal

The Mintal project was started as a cooperative by artists and gastronomes: Eva van Asseldonk & Martijn Verhallen & Herman Albers and herb experts: Tedje van Asseldonk & Emanuela Savi.

What is mintal

Mintal is a project aiming to develop and produce exciting new flavors and natural fragrances. We combine herbal knowledge, ethics and aesthetics in our dried herbal teas and fragrance products: herbal shampoos, hydrolates, eaus and natural perfumes.

What is our mission

Our goal is to bring the experience of real tastes and smells of unspoiled nature. Chemical fragrances and taste ‘improvers’ have taken over in cosmetics and food stuff nowadays, but we try to show there still exists another world. Each of our products is unique: they differ from year to year and from season to season. We only produce very limited amounts as we do not want nature to suffer for our cosmetic needs.

Where is Mintal

We work from origin to product, meaning we grow and harvest or collect the raw plant materials, both in the Netherlands and in Italy. Most of the plant materials used originate in Italy, at the permaculture farm of Tedje in the Apennines. This is where we harvest homegrown crops, wild and semi-wild plants.
